Sidenote: Google Reader & Bloglines

I have never posted about Google Reader or Bloglines, and I know that a lot of you out there use them to read your blogs, but I also know there are a lot of people (lost people) out there checking 2o different blogs every day.

So I’m spreading the word!

Essentially, what these two sites do is they let you know when your favourite blog author has posted a new blog.  You don’t physically have to go to each blog and check each day, only to find out that, yet again, they have not written anything.  Instead you just go to either Bloglines or Google Reader (whichever you choose to use) and they will let you know when a new blog has been written!  You simply have to  put in the blog address (for example, this one is http://peteandchels.wordpress.com) and voila.  You never miss a post again.

I have used both, but currently use Google Reader because I have an iGoogle page and when I go to my homepage I have my e-mail, blogs, flickr, weather, etc. all in one place.  I have used this since Harmony came to visit me in Victoria a year and a half ago and I love it!

March 10, 2009 - 10:33 am kelli - thanks for this. i am one of those people checking 20 different blogs a day. its a part of my 'morning surfing' while i eat my cereals. but i kind of don't mind all the clicking and linking...
